Drop-in information session Monday on potential green stormwater infrastructure projects in neighborhood

King County’s Wastewater Treatment Division is asking for public input as it plans construction on green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) projects in planting strips in some north Seattle neighborhoods in the next few years. Those GSI projects would slow or reduce polluted rainwater runoff.
The project study area includes a long stretch along Greenwood Avenue, although no specific locations have been chosen. Residents, property owners and businesses in the project study area soon will receive a mailing.
There’s a drop-in session this coming Monday, Oct. 1, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., with a special focus on potential projects in the Phinney neighborhood.
If you can’t make that, there are more drop-in sessions from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Green Lake Community Center, 7201 E. Green Lake Dr. N.; and from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at University Heights Community Center, 5031 University Way N.E.
And there’s an open house from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Fairview Christian School, 844 N.E. 78th St. (with a special focus on the Phinney neighborhood from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.)
