Hundreds of classic cars will begin lining up along Greenwood Avenue at 6 a.m. Saturday for the annual Greenwood Car Show, an official Seafair event by the Greenwood Knights which runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The car show runs from Phinney Avenue North and North 65th Street to Greenwood Avenue North and North 90th Street, with vintage cars, trucks, hydroplanes, fire trucks, police vehicles and more.

Paul Allen’s Flying Heritage & Combat Armor Museum is bringing a historic M3A1 Half-Track Personnel Carrier, used in World War II, in the Safeway parking lot at Greenwood Avenue North and North 87th Street.
Nine cars are coming from the LeMay Collections at Marymount, including a 1936 Ford Coupe and a 1972 Chevy Corvette LT1.
FamilyWorks, which runs the Greenwood Food Bank at the Salvation Army at 9501 Greenwood Ave. N., will have several donation points along Greenwood Avenue, so people are encouraged to bring non-perishable food or cash to donate. Their main booth will be in front of the Greenwood Safeway at North 87th Street, with additional donation spots at the Main Stage at North 79th Street, the Greenwood Knights booth at North 77th Street, Ken’s Market at North 73rd Street, and the Car Show Registration Check-in at North 71st Street.
The 2nd Annual Windermere Greenwood Beer Garden will take place in the real estate company’s parking lot at 311 N. 85th St. (half a block east of Greenwood Avenue) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. All proceeds go to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in our neighborhood. They’ll have beer from Pike Brewing Company, Montucky Cold Snacks, Bale Breaker Brewing Company, Schofferhofer Grapefruit, as well as hard cider from Tieton Cider Works, and wine from 3 of Cups Winery, plus Nacho Mama’s Tamales and Lil J’s SuperDawgs food truck, as well as live music and games like Corn Hole. (21 and over; $6 beer, cider and wine).
There’s live music all day on the Main Stage at Greenwood Avenue North and North 79th Street:
- 10-10:45 a.m. — School of Rock – Bellevue
- 11-11:45 a.m. — School of Rock – Greenwood
- 12-12:45 p.m. — New Method Blasters (rock/soul/roots)
- 1-1:45 p.m. — Four (rock ’n roll celebration, jazz)
- 2-2:45 p.m. — The Raineros (country and western, honky tonk, Western Swing)
The Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St., will host its annual pancake breakfast, with all proceeds supporting its program. Pancakes, eggs, meat, fruit, juice and coffe, served from 7-11 a.m. Cost is $5 for adults, $15 for families.
Live KZOK broadcast from the 74th Street Ale House with Scott Vanderpool providing listeners with car show reports from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (stop by and enter to win a pair of tickets to see Pearl Jam at Safeco Field in August).
Top Ten Toys is hosting a kids zone on Morrow Lane between North 85th and 87th streets (just east of Fred Meyer) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a bounce house, bounce slide, games, prizes, activities, Pinewood Derby and more. Ken Lyon, ventriloquist, and Byron Stander, Anti-Bully Man, will perform at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Naked City Brewery, 8564 Greenwood Ave. N., is again hosting its Beer Can Derby beginning at 12 p.m. (It’s for adults 21+ but there’s also a Root Beer Can Derby for ages).
Metro bus route #5 will be rerouted from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day: Heading toward Shoreline College, the bus will travel via North 67th Street, Greenwood Avenue North, 65th Street, 8th Avenue NW, NW 85th Street, 3rd Avenue NW, NW 90th Street, Greenwood Avenue North and onto its regular route. Heading toward downtown Seattle, it will travel via North 90th Street, NW 90th Street, 3rd Avenue NW, NW 65th Street, Greenwood Avenue North, North 67th Street, Phinney Avenue North and onto its regular route.
