Seven Seattle City Council District positions will be on the ballot in 2019. Candidates can pledge to participate in the Democracy Voucher program beginning July 2. Candidates could quality for up to $150,000 to finance their campaigns.
Candidates who are interested in qualifying for Democracy Voucher funding must collect contributions of at least $10 from 150 Seattle residents, with 75 of those contributions coming from within their districts. By collecting these contributions, the candidate demonstrates a willingness to gather substantial support from their community to qualify for the program.
