It’s opening week for Taproot Theatre’s production of Oscar Wilde’s comedy “Lady Windermere’s Fan.” Previews are Wednesday and Thursday, and opening night is Friday. It runs through June 23, and is recommended for ages 12 and up.
It’s the party of the social season, but instead of celebrating, Lady Windermere suspects her husband is having an affair with a mysterious and beautiful stranger. As rumors swirl and secrets are revealed, the Windermere’s lives are upended and threatened to end in disgrace. This comedy classic from Oscar Wilde will charm you with its cleverness and wit.
Post-Play discussions with Taproot staff and cast members are held after every Wednesday performance and after the midweek matinee performances at 2 p.m. on May 22 and June 13, and 10:30 a.m. on May 30 (which is also an Intergenerational Matinee, with $10 student and chaperone tickets). Pay What You Can performance is at 7:30 p.m. May 23, with a limited number of $10 tickets available beginning at noon; beginning at 5 p.m. that day, tickets are name-your-own-price (in person only, limit 4 per person).
