SDOT completes design of new crosswalk on Holman Road at 13th Avenue NW underneath current pedestrian overpass, work to begin in spring

Seattle Department of Transportation has finished its design work for the new crosswalk on Holman Road at 13th Avenue NW, near Dick’s Drive-In, that will keep the current pedestrian overpass instead of tearing it down, as originally planned, after community outcry.
Construction is expected to begin in late spring.

The project will maintain the overpass and add a new at-grade crossing which is part of the North Seattle Neighborhood Greenway.
The old design that included removal of the overpass also included a second marked crosswalk in the location of the existing bus stop. Because we’re now keeping the pedestrian overpass, the final design includes just one crosswalk and no longer requires that the bus stop be relocated.
