Town Hall events at Phinney Center in January and February

As Town Hall Seattle continues to renovate its 100-year-old building downtown, it is bringing its programming out into the neighborhoods, including ours. Here’s what’s on tap in January and February. All take place at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., and all cost $5.
Saturday Family Concerts: Johnaye Kendrick at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13. Free for kids with a paying adult.

Spend a Saturday Family Concert dancing with the Johnaye Kendrick Quartet, as they bring an energetic collection of jazz favorites and new compositions.

Ama Marston and Stephanie Marston: “Transformative Resilience for Thriving in a Turbulent World,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 21. $5.

Psychotherapist Stephanie Marston and leadership expert Ama Marston share insight on Transformative Resilience, a success-oriented mindset for responding to challenges with action.

Susan Wise Bauer: “Rethinking School: How to Take Charge of Your Child’s Education,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Educator Sara Wise Bauer examines systemic flaws in our country’s K-12 education system, and offers solutions for navigating learning differences and negative classroom environments.

Anya Kamenetz: “Balancing Digital Media and Real Life,” at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7.

Education and technology expert Anya Kamenetz offers practical philosophy for families to manage intake of digital media in an age of unprecedented exposure to technology.
