Fire in condo building at 8760 Greenwood Avenue North

Update: Fire investigators have ruled the cause as accidental, caused by improperly discarded smoking materials. Estimated loss is $150,000 for the structure, $100,000 for contents.

Update: Metro Route 5 has resumed its normal route along Greenwood Avenue.

Update: Seattle Fire Department tweeted that the fire is out, with no injuries reported.

Metro Transit is rerouting Route 5 in both directions between North 85th Street and North 105th Street, because of the fire trucks blocking the street. Please use bus stops on Greenwood Avenue North south of 85th or north of 105th until further notice.

Earlier: Seattle Fire Department has a large response for a fire inside a condo building at 8760 Greenwood Avenue North.

According to Real Time 911, the first call came in at 1:21 p.m.
