Farmers Market, jazz, Seafood Festival in and near Phinney-Greenwood this weekend

Phinney Farmers Market from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh veggies, fruit, bread, flowers, beer, wine, cider, pasta, ice cream, popsicles and more, plus several dining options.

Phinney Work Party at North 50th Street and Phinney Avenue North from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday.

Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell from 2-4:30 p.m. Sunday at Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N.

Traffic-wise this weekend:

  • Ballard Seafood Fest begins Friday evening and goes through Sunday along NW Market Street, Ballard Avenue and surrounding streets. Metro routes 40 and 44 will be rerouted; check the Service Advisories page for information.
  • Washington Department of Transportation will close all southbound lanes of I-5 between Stewart Street and I-90 overnight Friday, along with the Mercer Street on-ramp to southbound I-5 and the Yale Street on-ramp to southbound I-5. All lanes and ramps will reopen at 5 a.m. Saturday.
  • WSDOT also will close two southbound lanes of I-5 near the U-District overnight Sunday. All lanes will reopen by 5 a.m. Monday.
