Last fall we told you about Josie Droz, then a third-grader at Greenwood Elementary, who raised $10,000 to construct a well in Ghana. Josie just started fourth grade, and her well is now installed at Kankun Primary School in the district of Nasena Nankana West.
At the end of second grade Josie began raising money for Water Access Now by holding lemonade stands and fundraising at neighborhood events, including the big May Artwalk. By the end of that summer she raised $5,000 with the help of her family and friends, and that was matched by a board member of Water Access Now, who was impressed with her work.
A Water Access Now team recently visited Ghana for the well’s construction and dedication.
Congratulations, Josie!
