The North Star Diner & Shanghai Room at 8580 Greenwood Ave. N. is hosting a fundraiser to help one of its regular customers pay for her mother’s hospice care.
The fundraiser begins at 9 p.m. Saturday. A portion of revenue and all proceeds from Shock Top Beer will go to the family, and there will be other opportunities to donate and help out.
Thank you for taking the time to hear about my mom Janet’s story. She is a brave woman who has gone through countless treatments to see me grow up. But now unfortunately her treatment options have run out and we are facing hospice. There are still expenses related to her care that we are finding hard to afford. Having a fundraiser at my favorite bar, the Shanghai room would not only possibly help my mother financially but help put a smile on my mom’s face during this difficult time.
