Art Up PhinneyWood Artwalk is from 6-9 p.m. Friday at dozens of galleries and other businesses throughout the neighborhood. Check out the Artwalk website for a complete list of all participating businesses and artists. The Phinney Center Gallery is hosting opening night of the Northwest Fine Arts Competition.
PNA Science Fiction & Fantasy Book Exchange from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Then the Mystery Book Exchange is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Flying Bike Ghoul Gallery & Pumpkin CDA Release from 6-10 p.m. Friday during the artwalk, 8570 Greenwood Ave. N.
Bust’d: An All Ages Drag Show at 7 p.m. Friday at The Pocket Theater, 8312 Greenwood Ave. N.
“Dracula” continues at Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St. (and has been extended a week, through Oct. 31).
Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Hank & Claire — Pacific NW Folklore Society coffeehouse concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday; Community Sing with Pacific NW Folklore Society at 12 p.m. Saturday; Threshold Ensemble — Playback Theater at 7:30 p.m. Saturday; Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell at 2 p.m. Sunday; and Kenny Mandell’s Music Improv Session with Randy Doak and Lamar Lofton at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Seattle Folklore Society presents Danish folk duo Jensen & Bugge at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the PNA in the Brick Building.
Over in Ballard, a life-size Street Scrabble tournament will happen from 4-6 p.m. at the intersection of 17th Avenue NW and NW Dock Place.
And don’t forget that President Obama is expected to touch down at Boeing Field at 3:45 p.m. today for two events at the Westin Hotel downtown. So, plan your commute accordingly. He’s expected to leave at 7 p.m.
