‘Coffee and Conversation’ with state reps Carlyle, Tarleton in 4 neighborhoods, including Greenwood, on Saturday

by | Sep 21, 2015

State Representatives Reuven Carlyle (D-Queen Anne) and Gael Tarleton (D-Ballard) are hosting “Coffee and Conversation” in four Seattle neighborhoods this Saturday, including Greenwood. They want to hear from constituents in the 36th legislative district, which includes Ballard, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Belltown, Fremont, Phinney Ridge, Greenwood and Blue Ridge.

The representatives will give a brief recap of the 2015 legislative session and highlight some of the challenges facing the state Legislature when it reconvenes in January. A large portion of the discussion will then be devoted to questions and comments from the participants.

“The recent teacher strikes across the state and here in Seattle serve as a stark reminder that the Legislature still needs to make good on its promise to fully fund education,” said Tarleton. “We’ve made progress, but there’s still a long way to go. Reuven and I would like to hear from members of our community about how they would like to solve our education challenges and any other issues that are on their minds.”
