On Thursday, Ivar’s Seafood Restaurants surprised Broadview-Thomson K-8 teacher Lana Sumner with a $500 gift certificate for class supplies as the company’s 2015 Teacher of the Year.
This is Ivar’s 12th annual Teacher of the Year contest. Sumner was chosen from hundreds of nominations from local kindergarten through 8th-grade students.
Nominating student Ava Fitzenrider’s class also received a visit from Ivar’s Dancing Clam, gift certificates good for a complimentary Ivar’s Kids Meal, and admission tickets to the Pacific Science Center.
