Green Lake Community Council meeting Wednesday will discuss effects of algae scum

by | May 11, 2015

Part of Wednesday’s Green Lake Community Council meeting will be devoted to a toxicologist from Seattle/King County Department of Public Health reviewing the health effects associated with algae scums that sometimes form at the edge of Green Lake.

A Seattle Parks Department representative will show off new signs that tell users about the appropriate health precautions for swimmers, wading children and dogs.

The public is encouraged to attend and ask questions. The meeting is at the Hearthstone Residences, 6720 East Green Lake Way N., at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13.
