Give Big to local nonprofits today

by | May 5, 2015

Today is the Seattle Foundation’s fifth annual Give Big, a 24-hour event where donations to more than 1,700 Puget Sound area nonprofits are stretched through a pool of matching donations. Give Big ends tonight at 11:59 p.m.

Several of our neighborhood’s nonprofits are on that list, including: The Great Seattle Bureau of Fearless Ideas (formerly 826 Seattle), which provides free writing and tutoring to children; Taproot Theatre Company; Aurora Commons, a “neighborhood living room and resource center that compassionately and creatively serves men and women along the Aurora corridor who struggle with substance abuse, mental illness, homelessness, and sexual exploitation”; Boys & Girls Clubs of King County (which includes the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club in Greenwood); Cancer Lifeline; Christ the King Catholic School; Music Center of the Northwest; New Beginnings; Norse Home; Phinney Neighborhood Association; St. John Catholic School; and Woodland Park Zoo.

We’ve probably missed some from our neighborhood. Please put a note below in comments if you find another one.
