Seattle Public Library offering another series of Sensory Story Times

by | Jan 23, 2014

The Seattle Public Library is once again offering a series of Sensory Story Times for children ages 10 and under who have a hard time in larger story time groups, are on the autism spectrum, or are sensitive to sensory overload. The free 12-week series alternates between the Greenwood and Columbia City branches.
The story time librarian will use preschool-level books, songs and movement during the 30-minute session. The Sensory Story Times webpage includes the schedule and links to the songs.
Sensory Story Times are at 10:15 a.m. on Saturdays from now through March 29 (alternating between the Greenwood and Columbia City Branches). Sensory Story Time is limited to the first 12 families, and is not appropriate for daycare groups.
This Saturday’s theme is “Getting Dressed.” Future themes at the Greenwood Library are creatures, transportation, counting and animals.
