The University of Washington’s Landscape Architecture Studio is studying how to design healthier neighborhoods, and its January through March quarter is focused on Greenwood and Phinney Ridge.
Students are trying “to identify and envision ways of improving the neighborhood’s streets and open spaces. Students will explore design options to support walking and bicycling throughout the neighborhood, such as greenways, as well as to enrich ecological and community life.”
As part of that effort, the Studio is hosting a community conversation from 6:30-7:45 p.m. next Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N.
Share your insights on:
• what you enjoy most about your neighborhood,
• what neighborhood places you visit often and what is missing,
• what works well for people to walk and bike to local destinations, and
• what is needed to improve accessibility, ecological conditions, and community
gathering.
