Phinney resident Mike Veitenhans will be leading paid tours of the neighborhood for the company Metropologie, which is also running tours in Pioneer Square, Capitol Hill, as well as tours focusing on art, architecture, music history and several others.
Veitenhans (who certainly knows the neighborhood — he also runs the summer-time Gumshoe neighborhood scavenger walk), is leading a free tour this Saturday to test out his route and how long it takes. Mike says he wants an honest critique of his presentation, and he’d love to pick up any historical tidbits folks are willing to share.
The free tour starts at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6, at the Phinney Ridge Starbucks at 67th and Phinney Avenue North. The route is approximately three miles, from the nearby Phinney Neighborhood Center to the Sakya Monastery to the infamous Bowling Ball House and back.
