Greenwood artist holding contest for his new coloring book

by | Apr 23, 2013

Greenwood artist John Osgood, co-owner of Bherd Studios Gallery at 312 N 85th Street, Suite 101 (on the corner of 85th and Greenwood, above Chase Bank), is publishing a book of his pen-and-ink illustrations called “Over the Line.” But he wants people of all ages to grab crayons, pencils and even digital coloring devices to add color to them.

These illustrations combine the morphing, exaggerated shapes of graffiti art with fluid and calligraphic lines, packing characters, body parts and symbols together in a dense knot of imagery.

Pick up an entry at Bherd Gallery or download it, color it with digital or traditional tools, and submit it to the Gallery in person or by email at [email protected] by midnight on May 10.

The winner’s creation will be on the cover of the new coloring book, plus they’ll get a free signed book, a framed original Osgood illustration, and they’ll be the VIP Guest for the book release celebration on Friday, Aug. 9.
