Car prowler steals climbing gear out of car near crowded restaurant Saturday night

by | Dec 3, 2012

Jessica tells us someone broke into a car near the Barking Dog restaurant on Saturday night, breaking two windows and stealing climbing equipment.

There was a smash and grab on Saturday night on the corner of 70th & 7th. Two men were eating at the Barking Dog when two of their car windows were smashed and a backpack and climbing gear stolen out of the back. A neighbor noticed the vandalized car and went to the Barking Dog, where the staff were good enough to notify the patrons and find the owner. It happened between 5:45 and 6:30 PM. What’s scary is that this was a fairly busy corner, just a hundred feet from the entrance of the restaurant.
