It’s the second-to-last Phinney Farmers Market of the season, from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the lower parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
Saturday is Drug Take-Back Day. You can take any unused medications to Seattle Police Department’s North Precinct, 10049 College Way N., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Bite of Broadview, a family-friendly festival just north of Greenwood, happens all weekend long at Christ the King Catholic Church, 415 N. 117th St. Hours are 4-10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. There will be carnival rides, live music (Caspar Babypants and Recess Monkey!), a kids zone, food vendors, arts and crafts booths, a beer/wine garden, car show and a 5K run
Couth Buzzard Books Espresso Buono Café, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Songwriters’ Showcase: Mike Buchman, JW McClure, Ahmad & Kreea Baabahar at 7:30 p.m. Friday.; and NY Folksinger George Mann at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Taproot Theatre begins its second week of the mystery “Gaudy Night.”
Seattle Folklore Society presents a tribute to Woody Guthrie with The Wanderers and Joel Rafael, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in Community Hall in the Brick Building.
Brooks Rand is hosting a free Electronics Recycling event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at 3958 6th Ave. NW, in the parking lot. Cash donations accepted the local chapter of Multiple Sclerosis Society.
If you’re down at Green Lake on Saturday starting at 5 p.m., you’ll see hundreds of people carrying illuminated ballons as part of the annual Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
And not too far from the neighborhood, if you’ve got a kid who loves big trucks, you might want to check out “Touch-A-Truck” at Northgate Mall, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in the southeast parking lot. Kids can sit behind the wheel of a big rig
Don’t forget that Metro’s service changes begin tomorrow. It’s eliminating the ride-free area downtown, adding two express trips to the 28, and the number 5 will stop going to Northgate but will continue up to Shoreline instead.
