Zoo’s 2 snow leopard cubs have another round of eye surgery

by | Aug 14, 2012

Woodland Park Zoo’s remaining two snow leopard cubs underwent another round of surgery to correct their impaired vision. The 3-1/2-month-old females, named Shanti (shawn-tee) and Asha (aw-shuh), were born with eye and eyelid defects. They both are blind in the right eye.

Their brother was euthanized in June because of multiple severe heart defects.
The cubs remain off public exhibit with their mother, but zoo staff hopes to begin introducing them to the public in a few weeks.
