Donation events, drop-off locations for Greenwood Food Bank

by | Apr 12, 2012

Several Greenwood and Phinney Ridge businesses are hosting food drives for the Greenwood Food Bank, which is struggling to keep up with demand from 4,000 clients every month.
Greenwood Christian Church is hosting a “Fill the Van” event from 12-3 p.m. on April 22, at 8018 Fremont Ave. N. Drop off non-perishable food and hygiene items.
Green Bean Coffee Shop, 8533 Greenwood Ave. N., is asking customers to bring in two non-perishable food items this month. Show them to the barista, and you’ll get $1 off your coffee.
Ken’s Market, 7231 Greenwood Ave. N., has a bin for non-perishable food and hygiene items.
Mud Bay Granary, 8532 1st Ave. NW, is asking for donations of pet food for low-income clients.
According to the food bank, half of its clients are senior citizens and children, and 29 percent of people using food bank services have to choose between paying for food and paying for medicine or medical care.
Please let us know of any other businesses that host a drop-off bin for the Greenwood Food Bank.
