Nick Cail drops out of 36th District race

April 4th, 2012 · Comments

Nick Cail is dropping his bid for 36th District Representative. Here’s the full note he sent us:

After spending the last several days speaking with family, friends and advisers I have decided not to continue my run for State Representative of Washington’s 36th Legislative District.

When looking into the next several months of the campaign I feel I would not be able to meet the time commitments of this competitive race and maintain the professional and family obligations that I truly enjoy.

The 36th Legislative District has a capable and committed group of candidates to choose from and I have no doubt that our Seattle neighborhoods will be well represented in Olympia during the next legislative session. I will look forward to continuing to speak with all the candidates about the future of our state’s four-year universities and community colleges, about funding and access to arts in our public schools, and about when we might see the next Supersonics game played in Seattle.

I have enjoyed the conversations I’ve had with my thoughtful, hard-working neighbors in the 36th, and I am grateful to those who supported my candidacy. I am eager to work towards Democratic victories this November and to continue discussing the future of the city and state I proudly call home.
