Boys & Girls Club teens holding fundraiser for work in Haiti

by | Feb 14, 2012

A group of teens from the North Seattle Boys & Girls Club in Greenwood is hosting a fundraiser on Feb. 25 to help send a local church group to Haiti, and to raise awareness of issues that still linger there long after the massive 2010 earthquake.
Itโ€™s part of a national Boys & Girls Clubs of America project called โ€œAfter the Cameras Leave.โ€
The Greenwood group is raising money for Epic Life Churchโ€™s โ€œHands on Haitiโ€ group of 17 young adults who will go to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, in March, to help the Haitian people rebuild homes, schools and churches.
The event features Haitian appetizers and a silent auction of items donated by local businesses. It is at the Boys & Girls Club at 8635 Fremont Ave. N. from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25. Tickets are $10.
To purchase tickets by phone, contact Averi at Epic Life Church, 206-552-9586. Tickets will also be available at the door.
