Weekend events in Phinney Ridge and Greenwood

The weather is turning to rainy fall, but there’s still plenty to do in the neighborhood this weekend. You can check out our Events calendar anytime.
The Phinney Farmers Market runs from 3-7 p.m. Friday, rain or shine, in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. The market was extended by two weeks this year, until Oct. 21, because the growing season got a late start this spring. Come out and support your local farmers and buy fruit, veggies, meat, flowers, chocolate, pizza, tamales, ice cream, bread and more.

At Empty Sea Studios, 6300 Phinney Ave. N., Sarah McQuaid performs at 8 p.m. Friday. Cost is $14 in advance, $18 at the door. Hadi Karimi Asil and Ahmad Yousefbeigi perform at 8 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $15 in advance, $18 at the door.
A bit northeast of Greenwood, children can learn the sport of curling at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Granite Curling Club, 1440 N. 128th St.
The Greenwood Boys & Girls Club Alumni BBQ is at 1 p.m. Sunday at 8635 Fremont Ave. N.
Gainsbourg Lounge, 8550 Greenwood Ave. N., is throwing a Serge Gainsbourg-theme party and book signing, called “Soixante-Neuf,” at 8 p.m. Sunday, in honor of Seattle cartoonist David Lasky’s inclusion in the 2011 Best America Comics.
