Zoo animals get Fourth of July treats at Red, White & Zoo

The Woodland Park Zoo is giving special Fourth of July treats to many of its animals this weekend as part of its Red, White & Zoo event. Animals will munch on watermelons, corn on the cob, star-shaped popsicles and other picnic food.

Red, White & Zoo is included in zoo admission. Treats will be served to the animals from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The zoo is also offering a $2 off discount when you buy admission tickets at participating Ivar’s restaurants through Sept. 30. Click here for more information and a list of participating locations.
And the zoo is encouraging people to ride transit by offering a free shuttle service from the South Kirkland Park & Ride on weekends through Sept. 4; a $2 discount off admission to visitors who ride public transit to the zoo (show your bus transfer or ORCA card at the gate through Sept. 30;and two vouchers for free Metro bus rides to all zoo member households (the voucher will be in the August issue of the myZoo member magazine).
