Changes at the corner of 73rd and Linden

by | Mar 10, 2011

Off White Makeup and Beauty is taking over the tiny space at 7305 Linden Ave. N. formerly occupied by Spindle. Owner Megan Bingham had been providing wedding hair and makeup services out of her home and onsite at weddings, since 2007, but she and her staff of five are now meeting with brides in the cozy little space, which looks like a small parlor.

Off White is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday and Sunday by appointment. The front room of the 450-square-foot space is for consultation appointments and makeup classes; the back studio is for makeup applications and hair styling.
Bingham tells us she started the business out of her Queen Anne home in 2007 so she could stay home with her young son.
“From the personal market research I have done, I know that most clients choose me based on my affordability, as well as strong web presence and professional website,” she said in an email. “I commonly adjust prices to suit brides on a budget and will travel out to more locations in Washington than any of my competitors.”
Off White’s phone number is 206-491-5941.
Right next door, Sugarcomb Salon at 780 N. 73rd St. is expanding its services and adding an aesthetician. Starting April 1, “S spa” proprietor Sorine Morgan will provide facials, waxing, brow and lash tints, and body scrubs. Morgan is booking appointments now for April; call her at 509-670-8388. She’ll be offering new client specials of $10 for a facial (regularly $55) and $5 for a brow wax (regularly $10).
And the corner of 73rd & Linden recently got some new retro-looking streetlamps to make it safer for pedestrians. Neighbors and neighboring businesses had lobbied for lights around the busy, five-way intersection.

Two of the tall green streetlamps on the east side of Linden Avenue North at the intersection with North 73rd Street and Winona Avenue North.
