Weekend PhinneyWood events roundup

Here is a brief look at events happening this weekend in and around the neighborhood. You can find these and other upcoming events in our events calendarĀ and submit other events too.

Greenwood

The comedic play, “Charley’s Aunt” continues its run at Taproot Theatre, with shows at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. today (Saturday). Tickets can be purchased online, over the phone or at the theater’s box office, 204 N. 85th St.

The North End Jazz Quartet plays from 8-10 p.m. tonight at Wayward Coffeehouse. This family-friendly event is free.

Phinney Ridge

Tickets may still be available at the door tonight for Wake the Dead, playing, ahem, live, at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave., N at 7:30 p.m. They bill themselves as the “World’s First Celtic All-Star Grateful Dead Jam Band.”

Nearby

With the weather much improved, it’s a good time to check out the canoe and kayak races at the Ted Houk Regatta on Green Lake. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

Check out the Gaelic football, hurling and camogieĀ from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today during the 2nd Annual Green Lake Gaelic Games at Green Lake’s Northeast Playfields.

The Whittier Heights neighborhood garage sale is today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Here is a map of the participating homes.

In Ballard, the Second Ascent Twilight Criterium starts at 3:30 p.m. today in Old Ballard. Six races in all, with the menā€™s pro race starting at 7:30 p.m.
