World Cup soccer fever comes to the PNA

by | May 13, 2010

The Phinney Neighborhood Association is getting into Seattle’s new soccer craze by hosting World Cup soccer on the big screen in June and July.

From June 11 to July 11 we will turn our Community Hall into a World Cup fan fest extraordinaire: 45 FIFA World Cup™ soccer matches will be shown on a big screen (most of them live) in what promises to be a fantastic atmosphere. Families from all over town (and beyond) can experience the unique excitement of a World Cup at this all-ages event. Refreshments, vendors, and face painters will be on hand to round out the event. Show your true colors by getting a flag (or two) painted on your face!

The first event is Friday, June 11, with South Africa vs. Mexico. Doors open at 6:30 a.m. for a live 7 a.m. game.
Admission is by suggested donation of $3 for adults, $2 for children and $10 for families. More information and the full schedule is here. And they always need volunteers to help at the events.
