Last September, Seattle Department of Transportation landscape crews had to remove a number of Arbutus trees along 8th Avenue NW that didn’t survive the previous harsh winter.

On Thursday, crews will be back planting 30 serviceberry trees on 8th Avenue NW between NW 65th Street and NW 70th Street. The crew expects to work from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Serviceberries are small trees, up to 20 feet tall. They have white blossoms in March or early April, and orange foliage in the fall.
