Join GAIN’s neighborhood walk

by | Nov 23, 2009

Members of GAIN North (Greenwood Aurora Involved Neighbors) are restarting their neighborhood walks in the north Greenwood area. On Saturday, Nov. 28, meet at the southwest corner of the Evanston P-Patch (Evanston Avenue North and North 102nd Street) at 10 a.m., rain or shine.

The Neighborhood Walk is just that — we meet, we walk, we get to know each other, and we show ourselves as a active, concerned presence in the neighborhood. We’ll probably make note of any issues we discover
as we walk, like an abundance of graffiti, illegal dumping, hot-spots of trash, or abandoned cars, and we’ll report these issues to the proper city department to get them taken care of. But really, that’s just icing on the cake. Mostly what we’ll do is get to know each other and perhaps introduce each other to the streets we may not necessarily walk on our usual routes through the area.

The walk will last about 45 minutes to an hour. Well-behaved dogs and children are welcome.
