Speculation on arsonist’s profile

by | Nov 13, 2009

Our media partner, The Seattle Times, has a very interesting interview with some arson experts speculating on a profile of the Greenwood-area arsonist.

They think it’s likely a “white male in his late teens or early 20s who may be motivated by a mixture of excitement, vanity and revenge” who has probably set a lot more fires than the ones attributed to him so far.

The story helps answer some of the questions people have posed in previous stories about what kind of person might be responsible. The experts also suggest the August-October gap between fires may be because the arsonist was in jail on some other charge at the time.

On the heels of that story is a report of a warehouse fire in Shoreline this morning that may be arson too.
