Ribbons & stars adorn 70th St. in Phinney

by | Nov 15, 2008

Noah first told us that someone strung a lot of pink ribbon around utility and street sign poles along 70th St. in Phinney Friday morning. They also hung some big gold stars that look like giant Christmas ornaments. The biggest display was on all four corners of 72nd and Sycamore, and there was a slightly smaller display two blocks up at 70th and Palatine.

They even wrapped the ribbon around three unplanted trees sitting in the sidewalk strip. While the decorations were mostly on those two corners, we noticed smaller bits of ribbon or a single star in several other places nearby. They even decorated this fire hydrant.

It’s rather festive, but we’re curious to know who did this and why!
