Greenwood Roots of Youth this Saturday

by | Nov 13, 2008

Update: For this month’s project, please meet at Taproot Theatre at N. 85th St. & Palatine, instead of the Boys & Girls Club.

The Greening Greenwood group has a greatĀ endeavor called the Greenwood Roots of Youth Project, which pays teens to work with adults to weed, mulch and generally beautify the tree wells around Greenwood Ave. and 85th, as well as the grounds of the Boys & Girls Club atĀ 8635 Fremont Ave. N.
TheĀ once-a-month project isĀ every third Saturday. Participants meet at the Boys & Girls Club at 10 a.m. for two hours of work. Wear gloves and bring any tools you’re comfortable working with: shovels, bucket, hand tools.

Adult gardeners and neighborhood landscape professionals are needed to work with the teens by lending a little direction and guidance. And the group is alwaysĀ looking for donations toĀ help pay the teens $15 for their efforts. Six teens worked on the project last month.
You can send donationsĀ to:Ā Greening Greenwood, c/o Kate Martin, 412 NW 73rd St., Seattle, WA 98117.
