Starbucks changes up breakfast options

by | Sep 3, 2008

Gone are the breakfast sandwiches, replaced by options that include more “wholesome ingredients.” Among the offerings, oatmeal, a “Berry Stella” and a multi-grain roll that comes with almond butter or fruit preserves.

The new offerings cut out the high fructose corn syrup which gets some of the blame for the obesity epidemic, so props for that.

While I prefer Herkimer for my coffee on the go, I do admit to occasionally stopping in at the Starbucks on the corner of 67th and Phinney Avenue, which I did this morning to see it for myself.  The Berry Stella was a sweet and chewy whole-grain treat dotted with fresh berries and oatmeal. I’ll probably have it again.

Anyone tried any of the other offerings? I’m curious to know whether the oatmeal is indeed as “perfect” as they pitch it.
