Creative ideas needed for Park(ing) Day

On Friday Sept. 19, Greenwood will give over two parking spaces to be turned into micro parks for a day in honor of Park(ing) Day. Those two spots are wide open to imaginative interpretation in terms of design and construction.

The two locations that have been reserved for the festivities are both on Greenwood Avenue N. One is in front of The Pig ‘N Whistle and the other is in front of the Greenwood Branch Library.

If this still doesn’t make sense, check out this video of micro parks in NYC.

A couple teams are needed to pull together design themes and to help organize the “construction” the morning of the event and the “deconstruction” at the end of that day.

A workshop will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 25 at the Pig ‘N Whistle.
