Woman injured in 8th Ave. scooter crash

A woman riding a scooter north on 8th Avenue NW at NW 73rd crashed and injured herself shortly after 8 a.m. today.

Witnesses said her bike simply flipped. The impact shattered a milk crate carrying rack on the back of the bike. The woman was able to tell bystanders her back hurt. Paramedics put her on a spine board and transported her to the hospital. Northbound traffic on 8th was diverted onto side streets.
