The Peace of Wild Things: NWCC March Concert

Northwest Chamber Chorus is proud to announce our March concert under the leadership of Jeremy Edelstein: The Peace of Wild Things. Celebrating 56 years of artistry and recognized as one of the outstanding choral groups in the Northwest, the NWCC brings together forty talented musicians who share experience and skill in ensemble singing.

Wendell Berry, of the Appalachian heartland, offers the balm to his (and perhaps our) despair in the titular poem of the concert: to “rest in the grace of the world.” Our second concert aims to embrace that rest with a program that articulates the grace of the world in many forms: the “Five Flower Songs” of Benjamin Britten, “Under the Willow Tree” with Samuel Barber, and through Charles Viliers Stanford’s “The Blue Bird.” Rounding out the program will be works by Abbie Betinis, Hugo Alfvén, Johannes Brahms, and the eponymous “The Peace of Wild Things,” by Joan Szymko.
