North Star Diner and Shanghai Room bar will open next week at 8580 Greenwood Ave. N., where Yen Wor Garden used to be. The exact date and time is in flux as they finish up renovations.
North Star Diner will be a classic 24-hour neighborhood diner with traditional and new American diner food, including breakfast and lunch all day, dinners, milkshakes and baked goods. The interior will be a nod to the building’s long history of housing Chinese restaurants.
The adjacent Shanghai Room bar, open 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily, will offer alcoholic drinks and karaoke every night for patrons 21 and over.
