Looking for an excuse to make something with your own two hands this fall? Bella Vita has two creative workshops coming up at its Greenwood shop, with opportunities to try your hand at watercolor painting in October and jewelry-making in November.
On Wednesday, October 21, from 6โ9pm, Bella Vita will host a Watercolor Workshop designed for beginners and anyone interested in getting a little more comfortable with the wonderfully unpredictable medium. Participants will learn watercolor basics and a few tricks of the trade while embracing the happy accidents that come with mixing paint, water, and paper. The workshop is $75, and all supplies are included.
Then, on Wednesday, November 4, from 6โ9pm, Seattle jeweler Rebekah J. will lead Little Charms: A Wax Carving Evening. Participants will carve their own tiny charm in waxโanything from a seashell or sun to a slice of Swiss cheese or another small object that makes you smile. No experience is necessary, and all carving supplies are provided. This workshop is $175, with optional upgrades to sterling silver and chains available separately.
Afterward, Rebekah will take the creations back to her Seattle studio to cast each charm in solid brass and hand-finish it. Participants can return to Bella Vita on Small Business Saturday, November 28, to pick up their finished pieces and check out a pop-up of Rebekah J.’s jewelry.
Both workshops take place at Bella Vita, 7315 Greenwood Ave N.
