Who makes PhinneyWood a better place? Nominate them for a Seattle Good Neighbor Award

by | Jun 9, 2026

One of the things that makes PhinneyWood special is the people. The neighbor who checks in on others during a storm. The volunteer who shows up year after year. The community builder who quietly makes our corner of Seattle a little kinder, friendlier, and more connected.

Now there’s a new way to recognize those everyday acts of kindness.

The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods has launched its first-ever Good Neighbor Awards, a citywide effort to celebrate people who strengthen their communities through acts of care, connection, and leadership. The awards are part of the department’s 35th anniversary celebration and are designed to recognize both the big and small ways neighbors show up for one another.

Unlike many awards programs, there are no rankings or winners. Every person nominated is recognized for helping make Seattle a better place to live. Honorees will be celebrated at a special recognition event later this year.

Do you know someone in PhinneyWood who deserves recognition? Maybe it’s a longtime volunteer, a block-watch organizer, a neighborhood advocate, or simply someone whose kindness has made a difference in your life.

Nominations are open now and close on July 1, 2026.
