Devereaux Royale, who will be at the Greenwood Library at 11am this Saturday.
Over 50 businesses and organizations are ready for you and your family for this year’s 13th Annual PhinneyWood Pride Rainbow Hop, from 10am – 1pm this Saturday 6/6! Continuing the long tradition of being Seattle’s first Pride celebration outside of Capitol Hill, come out and enjoy fun activities and free artistic perfromances: music, theater, and Drag Queen Story Time.
Hosted and sponsored by the Greenwood Library, Devereaux Royale is a celebrated Seattle-based drag performer and a prominent figure in the Pacific Northwest queer arts community. As the drag daughter of the legendary RuPaulโs Drag Race icon Latrice Royale, she has made a name for herself as a highly visible and talented performer in the region. Beyond her performance career, she is recognized as a vocal advocate for the art of drag and for supporting the artists and venues that sustain local queer culture. She will perform at 11am at the Greenwood Library – drop by starting at 10am to reserve your spot as seats will be limited.
Maps are now available at Ken’s Market, the Greenwood Library, Phinney Center, and Kym’s Kiddy Corner. When you’re out Hopping on Saturday, get stamps from 6 different businesses and then show your map to the guy in the Rainbow hat outside of Mechanics Bank (7307 Greenwood Ave) between 12:30 – 1:30 for a free Zoo ticket!
Three other notable facets:
- PETS! by Melanie Godsey at the Taproot Theatre (9:30 – 10:30am). Reserve your free seat here. Itโs a tail-wagging time at Pet School, where Biscuit the pup and all their furry and feathered friends learn to sit, stay, and help a human in need. When things get ruff for Biscuitโs best human friend, Corey, itโs time to fetch help. A once-close friendship has gone to the dogs, and the bus stop becomes a bullying zone. Using every paws-itively clever trick from Pet School, Biscuit will stop at nothing to help Corey and teach the other kids that being an upstander is the best trick of all.
- Senior Pride Parade at the Greenwood Senior Center – meet at the GSC at 9:45 and the parade starts at 10am!
- Whozyamama Trio at Alice Ball Park (noon – 1pm). Sponsored by the Seattle Folklore Society and Valhalla Sandwiches, Whozyamama Trio is the Cajun music duo of Claudette Boudreaux on accordion and Tami Allen on fiddle, joined by Linda Wilson on guitar. They bring the vibrant traditions of Louisiana to life with soulful French vocals and authentic melodies. Together for over 30 years, Tami and Claudette are dedicated members of the Pacific Northwestโs Cajun music community.
