Are you a muralist who loves dogs, community, and painting with an audience? We have a commission for you.
Puget Hound and the PNA are seeking one artist to create a live, dog-themed (of course!) mural over the PhinneyWood Art Walk weekend. Painted in public, during the event, as the neighbourhood gathers around it. This is hands-on, visible, community art-making at its best.
Why this year matters
2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the PhinneyWood Art Walk. Three decades of artists, neighbours, and local businesses coming together to celebrate creativity on Phinney Ridge. This mural will be created as part of that milestone – and will stay as part of that legacy.
The details
A stipend of $2,000 is provided.
Painting takes place across two sessions:
- Friday, August 14 — 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
- Saturday, August 15 — 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm
You’ll be working across both sessions, so plan your scale, medium, and drying time accordingly. Prep work may be done ahead of the weekend if needed. The idea is that the mural should be substantially complete by the end of Saturday.
How to apply
Applications close July 8, 2026. All applicants will hear back from us by July 14.
