As part of this year’s PhinneyWood Pride Rainbow Hop, Taproot Theatre will kick off the day’s festivities with a special free public performance of PETS! on Saturday, June 6 at 9:30 AM at the Isaac Studio Theatre.

Presented by Taproot’s acclaimed Road Company, PETS! is an all-ages bullying-prevention play that follows Biscuit the pup and their human friend Corey as they learn to recognize, report, and refuse bullying while becoming “upstanders” for one another. Over the past school year, the production was performed 127 times for more than 40,000 students across 93 schools — and this special Rainbow Hop performance will be the show’s final public performance for at least six years.

This year marks Taproot’s fifth time participating in , one of Seattle’s first neighborhood Pride celebrations created specifically for children and families. Following the performance, families can head over to Rainbow Hop activities featuring crafts, community booths, Drag Queen Story Time with Sparkle Leigh, and more family-friendly fun throughout the neighborhood.

Taproot will also debut a special “Rainbow Pops” concession drink for the event, featuring Sprite, blueberry and raspberry syrups, whipped cream, and a rainbow candy garnish.

The performance takes place at the Isaac Studio Theatre, 212 N 85th St, and runs approximately one hour. Seating is general admission, and RSVPs are strongly encouraged. Doors open for RSVPs at 9:00 AM, with walk-up seating beginning at 9:15 AM.
