June-uary or not, here we come! Regardless of the weather, June feels like the kickoff to summer, Pride month, and the promise of sunshine. The first weekend of June is the unofficial start of summer at the PNA with several events to choose from.
Ready for Rainier Cherries warmed from the sun? Come to the first Farmerโs Market of the Year! Friday, June 5th, 3:00 โ 7:00 pm, Phinney Center Upper Parking Lot (6532 Phinney Ave N)
With over 30 vendors, a pizza oven, live music, and a dedicated parking lot, the Phinney Farmerโs Market is convenient and fun. Welcome the sunshine into your heart, if not in practice by picking up seasonal local produce. And to kick off the season rightโyou can stop by the PNA booth for some adorable new swag! The weekender totes are the perfect investment for your market haul.
Looking to celebrate Pride in a 21+ environment? Join us for Rainbow Bingo Karaoke! Friday, June 5th, 6:45 โ10:00 pm @ the Greenwood Senior Center.
The PNA released extra tickets this week to this classic neighborhood celebration of the trifecta of bingo, karaoke, and sassy seniors. If you havenโt been recently, don your rainbows and come check it out โ the PNA has added grilled cheese to the menu, and upped the cash prize to $50! Tickets available now until June 3rd, $45 for PNA members, $55 for non-members. All proceeds go to the PNA Senior Center so grab your friends and donโt forget to bring cash and a raunchy sense of humor.
Is an all-ages Pride celebration more your speed? Try Rainbow Hop! Saturday, June 6th, 9:30 am โ 1:00 pm, PhinneyWood Business District
The first official pride event outside of Cap Hill is back! Every year the business district comes alive with neighbors aged 1 โ 100. This year you can expect Drag Queen Story hour at the library, the second annual senior pride parade from the Greenwood Senior Center, and a dance party in Alice Ball park.
