Celebrate Earth Day: Beyond the Cart recycling event at the Phinney Center

by | Apr 11, 2026

Seattle neighbors have a great opportunity to celebrate Earth Day a little early this year at the upcoming Beyond the Cart recycling event at the Phinney Center. Taking place on Saturday, April 18 from 9 am to 1 pm in the lower Brick Building parking lot, this free drop-off event makes it easy to responsibly recycle items that don’t belong in your regular curbside bin.

Residents can bring a wide range of materials, including small electronics and appliances, paper for shredding, household batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, small propane cans, foam blocks and peanuts, as well as clothing and textiles. It’s a simple way to clear out clutter while making a positive impact on the environment.

Organizers note that the event will run only until collection trucks are full, so arriving early is strongly encouraged. To help keep traffic flowing smoothly, vehicles will be directed eastbound only on N 67th Street between Phinney Avenue N and Dayton Avenue N during the event.

Whether you’re tackling a spring clean-out or just have a few hard-to-recycle items around the house, this is a convenient and community-focused way to dispose of them responsibly!
