It has been a huge blow to the neighborhood to be without PhinneyWood original A la Mode Pies, which closed in 2023 when the building was donated to Homestead Community Land Trust to build permanently affordable homes. The great news is that owner Chris Porter (The Pie Guy) plans to re-open A la Mode Pies’ flagship cafe in the new building โ the Wood land View โ some time in the near future. Chris dearly misses the Phinney Ridge community that helped put A la Mode Pies on the Seattle map.
