This winter, Piano Nobile presents a thoughtfully curated series of hands-on creative workshops led by accomplished local artists and makers. From clay and printmaking to drawing, natural dyeing, photography, and jewelry design, each class offers an immersive opportunity to learn new skills, work with professional materials, and leave with finished pieces made by hand. Clay Workshop: Tiny Architecture

Guest Instructors: Alison and Rachel of Satrell Studio

Design and build your own tiny village out of clay in this imaginative and tactile workshop. Participants will explore form, texture, and architectural storytelling while creating small-scale structures that come together as a miniature community. This class emphasizes experimentation and playful design, making it accessible to all experience levels.

Printmaking Workshop: Introduction to Block Printing

Drawing Workshop: Bold Landscape Miniatures

Furoshiki Workshop: Natural Dyes and Japanese Gift Wrapping

Guest Instructor: Christine Dennett of COMMAND knitwear

This unique workshop combines two complementary traditions: Japanese furoshiki gift wrapping and Shibori stitching techniques, including Nui and Mokume. Participants will stitch three organic cotton bandanas with intricate patterns and dye them using natural dyes derived from plants and iron, producing three distinct colors. The result is a set of functional, reusable textiles that are both beautiful and sustainable.
