Herkimer Coffee and Its Neighborhood, Part 2, an exhibit of 15 new paintings by Roger Whitlock, is now up at Herkimer Coffee (7320 Greenwood Avenue and and runs to December 31st. Stop by to see the art – consider one for a unique holiday gift – and to have a great cup of coffee.
Roger Whitlock has been painting watercolors since 1985. A Seattle native with degrees from Whitman College, the University of Chicago, and the University of Washington, he lived in Hawai’i between 1970 and 2016 then returned to the NW. His work has appeared in Watercolor Magic and Watercolor Artist as well as in numerous solo and group shows in Hawai’i, on the US mainland, and abroad (Taiwan, Korea, and Brazil). In Hawai’i, he taught English (writing and literature) at the University of Hawai’i until 2001, when he took early retirement so that he could paint full time. At that time he also began to teach watercolor classes and workshops at the Honolulu Museum of Art School. He now lives in Edmonds, Washington.
